KEYS Azalea Completes First Ship-to-Ship LNG Bunkering for bulk carrier in Japan

On April 28th, KEYS Azalea, the LNG bunkering vessel owned and operated by KEYS Bunkering West Japan Ltd. bunkered LNG for the bulk carrier SG OCEAN1 at the port of Mizushima. This was the first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering2 for bulk carrier in Japan.


This was also the second LNG bunkering by KEYS Azalea, following the first bunkering to the pure car and truck carrier on April 10th. KEYS will continue providing safe and stable LNG bunkering for LNG fueled vessels and contribute to forming a carbon-neutral society, and developing the LNG bunkering business in Japan.

The first LNG fueled capesize bulk carrier built by the shipyard in Japan, operated by NYK for JFE Steel Corporation.

2 Ship-to-ship LNG bunkering
A method to supply LNG fuel, by directly connecting a hose from bunkering vessel to the receiving vessel.
